Storms in Aliceville

Last night I was driving home from the PA baseball/softball game when it started raining...then the rain turned to hard rain...and then it stormed! On the drive home, lighting struck right by my car. By the grace of God, I made it home safely. By the look of things, the wind had knocked a few limbs off the trees but that was about it.  Tricia Lavender and Tom Kay both called to make sure I was ok. (One of the many benefits of living in a small town. People really care about you! The next morning I walked around and found the damage to be worse than what it had originally appeared.  Praise the Lord for keeping everyone safe!

We have talked in Youth Group about suffering and that behind everything, there is God. We may not understand why destruction comes, but we know that ultimately it is for God's glory. We have confidence that when storms come in our life, God is there for us. He is able to rescue us!

"Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble,
and he brought them out of their distress.
He stilled the storm to a whisper;
the waves of the sea[a] were hushed.
They were glad when it grew calm,
and he guided them to their desired haven."

-Psalm 107:28-30
